Getting your friends to help you out!

Recently I have been really trying to get my forums going. 


I have asked my friends to post on the forum and make it look busier and they seem to be enjoying the task. So I have hit the 50 post mark and now I am gunning for the 100 post mark. Hopefully by the 100th post I will have another couple of active members. But until then I will just keep posting and adding more and more and more to the forums to help them grow stronger. 


I am going to try and get my forum ads working and positioned correctly so that they are earning me money. But I need to figure out how to do that first. I will ask about of forums.digitalpoint.com and see if they can help me as even my google analytics code isn't working.


My current goals for the forums are to get roughly 50 active members by the end of January. Then I will hopefully be pulling in more traffic from search engines and then my forums will continue to grow with very little work put into them. Apart from deleting spam posts and banning spammers etc...  They are pretty damn annoying!

Promoting my forum

So today I have been busy adding more content to both my forum and my website. Hopefully I will be able to get some active members to my forums really soon! Then I can get to work growing it into something bigger and better. I have also added an article onto my website which will hopefully bring me yet more organic traffic.

For my forums I am going to ask my friends at school to join in and get some conversations active. However I did change the url for my forums to http://www.gamercity.co.uk/forums hopefully todays work will only bring my site further.

New ad position more than quadriples my ad revenue.

So I changed the ad position of one of my ads and I more than quadrupled my ad revenue. I got about 400 ad impressions yesterday and I didn't report and increase in my visitors from analytics. Although I am going to try and check on woopra when my internet is back up and working. Hopefully I will continue to see this many earnings every day and hopefully increase this. I cannot wait until I get atleast 1k impressions a day! This is just one step closer to me reaching my goal of a dollar a day!

Anyway today I am going to try and get up some more cheats and unlockables onto my site. As more content equals more organic traffic and more reason for people to come back to my site. I want to have atleast 20 games all with cheats on my website by Christmas. I also hope to have atleast several more articles that will generate me some more traffic.

Anyway I need to get back to work. I need to study for a maths exam I have on wednesday so I will give you some more updates tonight!

New forums style

So I have been looking for new styles for my forums. I have settled on a nice little one downloaded of the phpbb official style database. Right now I am pretty happy with how it looks but I am always looking for better. I really need to start promoting my forums a lot more, after all if I get conversations going between other members. More members will join and then they will continually come back and give me continual revenue as well as member created content.

I am planning to hold some sort of competition for my forums to get a couple of people interested. Maybe have a contest for who can start the most interesting thread. That way I will see a surge in posts and hopefully spark a small community.

I also managed to get my list of games up and running so that it will update automatically. I want to start adding far more cheats to my website. After all I don't know how many times I have googled for cheats for a specific game. If I get enough links to my site I can start easily rank for these cheat pages and generate thousands of organic visitors!

Anyway I need to get back to work!

Introduction

So guys I would like to welcome you to the grand opening of my blog. So let me introduce myself - My name is E.Forbes and I am a young webmaster. I have started my own website - http://www.gamercity.co.uk and it is about this that I am going to blog about. Although if I do buy any others I will let you know!

I'll give you a little run down of my websites current stats and goals:

Visitors a day = 30-40
page views a day = 70-100
Average daily earnings - £0.01

So my goals are to get 50 visitors a day by christmas and hopefully get my average daily earnings up to £1. But that is quite a long term goal. As this is my first website and I have to focus on things like school I can only put as much work into this as these factors will let me.

So anyway please become a follower and find out how my quest to reach my goals go!
